Default Price for a Burndept 1928 Screened Four Portable ?

Hi,

A friend has sort of been offered the mentioned radio, but feels it is too much work for him. I also feel the same. I would love to do get it working, but it would have to be very cheap for me to get interested as it's in such a poor condition.

What would a realistic offer be to the chap who is offering it. I have found an auction price of £120 in 2008, but no mention of the condition, presumably better than this one though as this is not good enough to list even.

The obvious big problems are the condition of the leather case and woodwork, it' seriously had woodworm attack.
The Faux tortoise shell paint almost gone, which must be extremely hard to replicate.
The battery cover is missing.

I would hate to see such a historic item consigned to the scrap heap, is it really a pile of junk?

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

The radio was a genuine Barn find from a farm and most likely it has been in the same family from purchase, the guy offering it is a descendant of the farming family.

Thanks
