GEC radiogram or not? (Identified as a Marconi RG22A). - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Can anyone tell if this is a GEC radiogram or something totally different. I think the slanted blur in the bottom corner is the brand. This is the only picture I have unfortunately.

For a moment I was going to say "what radiogram, where", but then saw what looked like a tablegram when I enlarged and brightened the photo.

Looks like it is a Tabletop Gram to me-otherwise it's a Radio with an enormous amount of "headroom" well spotted at all in that crowded that scene. If the mark is the brand, the only one I can think of with that shape is possibly Marconi [Maybe

].

PS. I idly googled Marconi Table Top Radiogram and in the "images for" strip, there it is...large photo 1930! Can someone put it up ?

PPS. I still couldn't make out the brand but there are threads from 2013 and 14 identifying it as a 289 and that the label says GMarconi.

That blur and the general appearance hints at Marconi to me.....

Yes that's the 2014 one I just mentioned in my post. The 2013 thread is more specific re ID and previous precedents/models. Apparently there is a PX4 involved!

My uncle's front room looked like that until his passing in 2008

Perhaps this photo is similarly recent, and the telly / VHS combo (which he rented to the end) is just out of shot. He was a man of simple pleasures; his energy consumption (same fireplace, with a gas fire perched in it) was at the kind of level I'd like to get back to for the sake of my kids' futures.

That's a rather sad [utility?] Xmas Tree on the sideboard at the back of the room surrounded by Xmas Cards. I might make it my Xmas Card this year-
"A 1940's Christmas". The dog resembles the rather knowing one from the old Daily Mirror cartoon!
