Re: Panasonic NV8610B
Can you see a 'VEH0' number on the upper drum? I still have a few heads and will be happy to check.
Les

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
Hello Les a quick look didn"t reveal anything perhaps if you post a few pictures of what you have,I might recognise something oh just to mention I am also looking for belts and a pinch roller ,and cassette lamp and even a complete machine which would be useful as a project or source of spare parts would be a great help, tis was the 2nd VHS offering from National Panasonic the first was NV8600,In 1978 the NV8610, was slightly different as the picture wasnt lost when pause was pressed and a button on the front allowed you to advance the picture frame by frame .

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
The NV-8610 manual says the part number for the upper drum is VEH0099 but I suppose an NV-7000 series VEH0121 drum will work since they appear to be identical.

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
I think the video heads from a NV333 will fit I seem to recall a friend of my girlfriend had a Panasonic NV333 which needed new heads a idler kit and a pinch roller replaced, I got the parts and fitted them and it completely transformed it into a good example and I recall the heads looking identical the place I purchased the heads was Grandata near wembley stadium but they disappeared a long time ago another useful place was manor supply but no longer trading any suggestions ? please

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
Sorry for delayed reply, I'll hop up into the loft tomorrow and check.
Sounds like a fairly basic head, Doubt I would have a VEHO099 but the VEHO121 was used in many different Pana's. I did have a spare one which was used in my NV 7200, so you might be lucky. Les

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
Use Video head number VEH0121.
Also make sure to use the correct sensor lamp if you have to replace it. It is different to most other, and can cause an intermittent shutdown fault if wrong. I have no problem getting heads for the older models. It is the later ones that are difficult/impossible to source. Good luck. Would love to see some pictures of your machine in action. Regards Wayne. |

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
The cassette lamp is an XAMV0019 incandescent light bulb. You can source a belt kit from various places online but I have no idea about the pinch roller. One thing I know is that an NV-G7/G10/G12 pinch roller will fit the NV-8600/8610/8620, meanwhile, an NV-7000 series pinch roller won't fit the 8600, which I find strange.

Re: Panasonic NV8610B
Well I think I can now kiss goodbye to the promised postage reimbursement.
So you now have a new FOC Panasonic video head drum, for which I have paid £4.69 to put me in this enviable position. I thought I was dealing with a fellow enthusiast, how wrong can you be. I just hope members reading this might well think twice about offering you assistance in the future. |

Probably best to contact the person direct, not here. Most folks are 100% I have to say.

I agree with you 99.99% of members here are genuine honest enthusiasts, unfortunately there will always be a 'bad apple'. As far as I am concerned the matter is now closed.
