Help identify this Pilot?
My next possible project.
The chap says its a Pilot Clipper, been in his family since new. But the nearest I can find is a Pilot Radio - Blue Peter https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/pilot_blue_peter.html Not quite the same. It seems versions of this were made in Dublin by Brownlee Brothers Limited. The chassis looks ok but the case is a mess. What do you reckon, would the Blue Peter schematic/service data be close enough? Thoughts? Thanks Ray |

Re: Help identify this Pilot?
Probably, yes. The layout of the chassis certainly appears to be very similar to that of the 'Blue Peter'. But be careful as, apparently, there were three variations of the 'Blue Peter'. The one which used all octal valves is the one I suspect you need – valve line-up 6K8GT 6K7GT 6Q7GT 6V6GT 6X5GT. Does this match the line-up in the Clipper?
A similar Clipper appeared previously on this forum – but this one used a variant valve line-up. |
