BVWS Website Update
I have just uploaded an update to the BVWS website.
We now have the contents of all bulletins up to the latest one available, along with a search system to allow you to find articles matching specific sets, keywords or authors etc. A similar search is also available for 405 Alive articles. If you spot any errors or omissions in the contents lists please let me know. It has been quite a long job completing all the data entry, and a few errors are almost inevitable. Also if anyone has the time to type up brief (one sentence) summaries for some of the articles that don't have them (and where it is not obvious from the titles), that would be greatly appreciated. The summaries are included in the search results. |

Re: BVWS Website Update
A really big help that. The search facility is excellent and will enable the likes of me to engage in 'virtual' rummaging as opposed to 'actual' so as to pinpoint which issue to winkle out!
Must be due for the Autumn Bulletin soon - it felt very 'Autumnal' this morning.

Re: BVWS Website Update
You will notice that the search text is highlighted yellow in the search results. The same highlighting is also added to the auction results search.

Re: BVWS Website Update
I'm not sure when it's due out, but probably this month.

I understand it is at the printers as we speak, so within the next couple of weeks or so...

Re: BVWS Website Update
I don't think anyone can, unless I'm very much mistaken.
I assume that it's basically a searchable index of every bulletin from issue one right up to 2016, to enable BVWS members who already have the Bulletins, to be able to quickly track down an article or articles on particular topics of interest so they know which of their bulletins to dig out. IE, not an archive of the full contents of all the Bulletins to enable anyone - member or not - to delve into. (No such thing as a 'free ride'!).

Re: BVWS Website Update
That is correct. The first 20 years of bulletins are available as PDFs to download and the rest can be ordered as back-issues. 20 years worth is nearly half of them.
We may be adding another 10 years worth at some point, but someone will need to scan them all (due to DTP software changes/updates the bulletin editor cannot create PDFs from the original design files). Any volunteers (we can supply copies for scanning)? Our next project is online sales of capacitors, books and back-issues etc, followed by online membership subscriptions and renewals. This is ongoing but I won't give a completion date at this point. |
