Philips VHS recorder with illuminated front panel
Hello all,
I'm trying to find out some model number(s) of a Philips VHS with illuminated front panel (the bit that displays the "Play", "Pause", etc. writing). I saw one of these models in around 1990. Does anyone recognise this description? Many thanks, Ollie. |

Re: Philips VHS recorder with illuminated front panel
This sounds like the Charley deck models from 1987 onwards! The strip only lit up when the deck was being used ISTR - In EE mode the strip was off! I had a mono machine that had this feature, I don't know the model number though - I remember it being a nice feature of these very low profile & nice looking VHS machines!!

The 1986/1987 compact models did this indeed. VR6467, VR6760 etc. I think.
If it was new around 1990 I'd think of other models but I can't quite put my finger on it. |

Some used fluorescent displays in green (Charlies) or, later, blue (Turbos) then backlit LCD (Matchlines).
