Default Unusual AF filter

I came across a Racal and two aftermarket (Tewksbury Electronics?) items for use with the Racal RA17 receiver series on the usual auction recently. These were the MA163 Diversity Switch a DK43 tuning aid and most unusual a FL-4-C variable AF filter. Has anyone any information or experience of using these and in particular the FL-4-C?
Best regards Hugh
