Good morning
I am looking for a replacement power switch for an SP25 Mk2., part no 70548/03, as the contact breaker inside mine has fatigued and broken off. Any suggestions for possible sources for Garrard spares would be very much appreciated. |

Fitting an industry standard V5 microswitch is what I would do.

This is a common problem and a 'stock fault' on all this series of decks, so any 'old' replacement switch you get will probably be not far off failing again anyway. What I do is repair the original - I posted some info with a couple of pictures several years ago regarding this. The other option is to modify the mechanism/mounting to take a micro switch.

Just found pictures of the repair/bodge. Basically solder on some copper shim to bridge the break and reinforce the broken part. You'll need some needle files and you may need to remove a bit of the plastic.

Yes, that's the one. Thank you for the advice
I will have a go at carrying out the repair suggested and if that doesn't go wello I can obtain a suitable Microswitch and modify the base to suit. Last edited by kelvinmunson; 30th Oct 2020 at 7:21 am. |
