Default Resistors identification

What is the wattage, manufacturer, series, date. They measure 8mm long X <3mm Dia. They are 5% & 10% and measure well within tolerance.

They remind me of the ones made by the Yugoslav "Iskra" company back in the 80s and sold extensively throughout the West in that timescale.

Test the leadouts with a magnet - I bet you'll find they are magnetic!

Indeed, Iskra carbon film 0.25W. The 0.5W types are also larger than the equivalent UK
types. They seem to be reliable.

Iskra resistors were used extensively by the audio industry in the 80's. Quad is one example.

And yes - I agree that they are reliable.

All the Iskra resistors I bought, thousands of them, all had a beige background. Philips often used pale green as background. Of course makers sometimes changed colours with different specifications.

Not attracted to magnet, sanded the tinning off to reveal copper. Yes they seem to be reliable, if they are 40 years old most are just under the stated value, all within the 5% or 10%. I will be offering some for sale on this forum shortly.

I have only found one beige so far amongst the packs.

That is also my experience of Iskra carbon film resistors - beige, rather than pale green.
