Testing SSB transmitter with a Marconi 2955A signal generator.
Hello has anyone used a Marconi 2955a to test a SSB radio, can you use the audio generator to give two tones to inject into the transmitter.

Re: Testing ssb with a marconi 2955a
The 2955a variant does have two independent audio generators, but I have never tried it on an SSB radio.

Re: Testing ssb with a marconi 2955a
Conventional folklore (wisdom?) says that the 2955A signal generator is too noisy to be any good for SSB testing.

Re: Testing SSB transmitter with a Marconi 2955A signal generator.
Thanks for your replies, I am familiar using the 2955a for fm and am but just wondered about ssb testing as I have offered a rig clinic at some local rallies. Anyway I can still test on am or fm.
