Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Rob,
I am happy to a point pooling test gear, might draw the line at my sig genny though - it has taken hours of work and cost me a fortune to repair! - that being said I am sure we will not be short of signals over the weekend!

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
My test gear has been in storage for the last 3 years or so in less than ideal conditions and hasn't been tested since (though it is now back in my house). So I probably won't be bringing anything other than a multimeter, soldering iron and hand tools. My stock of components are in a plastic crate which I'll put in the car too, along with the laptop and printer of course plus whatever extension leads I can find.

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
I shall be bringing some components (resistors/caps/Valves/transistors etc.) plus tools, DMM, soldering iron etc.
I was also planning to bring my Telequipment S54a which is quite portable if needed. I hope that this should be enough - I could also bring my advance E1 signal genny but its a bit on the big side? Regards Rob |

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Rob, Paul,
Im sure that will be fine - I will have at least one signal generator with me, possibly 2, and Chris (onewatt) will probably bring his entire shack along

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Hi Sean,
Could we have some plain sandwiches too such as just ham, beef etc as I'm not one for sauces or pickles. Thanks Rob |

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Brown bread for the sandwiches would be nice........
Controversial I know. Big pork pies 'cut up' would be better than mini-ones (IMHO) I'm getting hungry just typing this!!! Cheers SEAN

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
I've been reading all of the catering requests with much amusement.
It's starting to sound like catering for the Royal Wedding would be an easier task. |

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Indeed. It is not realistic for Sean to pander to every catering request. A range of sandwiches, snacks and drinks is what he's offering, and if anyone wants something more specific they should bring it along themselves.
Otherwise we will all end up wasting more time discussing the relatively minor catering aspect then the real reason for the day which is fixing radios and other equipment. |

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
I will have to go with the masses, to a certain extent - one of the reasons the workshop is only £15 a head is down to simple food - while I do enjoy working in the kitchen, I dont want to spend the whole weekend in there (I doubt the pressganged catering department will want to either!)
I will make requests regarding a mixture of brown, and white bread, there's no issue in that, and if pork pies work out within budget for large sectioned ones I will go that way, otherwise I will take it that we are on the whole happy with whats on offer. In future (late summer) I may run a slightly different workshop, which may also be combined with a trip to a related museum/attraction, if this is the case, then we might all meet for a more elaborate meal, but this is still a long way off! Cheers Sean

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Hi Workshop peoples,
I have secured a meeting room for those arriving early from approximately 09:30, to save sitting in cars outside. Coffee and tea will be available and unloading can commence into this room adjacent to the main hall if you so wish. A pm just to let us know who is likely to be early would be good. On a note relevant to the pooled test equipment, a shed at the other end of the recreation field has been set aside for the workshop signal source, on loan from Sean. Regards Chris |
