Question Research for a relative...!

Hi all, and I hope you knowledgeable people could help me with a 'quest' I have been put on.

I am trying to find any and all information on a piece equipment. I have been told by a few people it may be a magnetic type recorder. (Wire or tape... unsure!) This lead me to find your forums.

I guess by the labels... I am pretty sure it was made in Holland (Detective I know...!)

We have had it in the family for quite a few years, and I haven't got a clue where to start really.

Thank you for your time.

Ben

I think Lawrence has it right. I thought this gizmo might be something to do with optical film sound, but I know next to nothing about 9.5mm home movie systems so it was little more than a lucky guess.

I worked for a company that put the magnetic stripe on films. We also repaired these Peterson sound units. The sound quality was quite good for an ‘add on’ unit due to a large heavy flywheel that drove the film through nd smoothed out the jerky motion of the film. Although they were going out of use by the mid 60’s as sound projectors became available for Super 8mm film.

This is one of those "when you think you've seen everything" moments...
