Help with the Heathkit DX20 CW Rig
i have some problems with the rig dx 20 power getting down and down.
i have during transmitting a short noise patch and power in watt meter getting down the occ most go tunr to 90 procent de copler to 50 procent the end tube til 10 procent a getting not more at 10 watt . witch amateur kan help me or have link fot info to repair this prioblem . i have inspectit several times can found anny ting . greetting from cor holland |

http://www.vintage-radio.info/heathkit/index.htm Your post is a bit difficult to understand. Have you tried operating the rig into a dummy load? What happens to the grid and anode currents when the fault is present?

As I said in post two operate the rig into a dummy load. If you haven't got one use a mains light bulb.
When the fault is present check whether the grid and or anode currents have changed. If the grid current drops the problem is in the oscillator/driver stage. If the anode current changes you have a fault in the PA stage. Tell us what you find.

i have do the test the diver seems to give output enouf de end tube olso .
but wen a move de chassis vrom the end tube wiggeling de power get some higher en lower out put. i will test now nieuw elco,s en then i look agan its seems to bee bee de elco i thing the voltage is no 600 volt that is in the manual at the anode en de voltage at the driver is about 250 volt . de tube vor making to make ormal voltage is making some tinkeling noise later wens its warm enouf its the tinkeling noise stops .. greettting cor |

I heve found the problem.
i have made probe for HF some c and diodes its works great find the problem with the end tube anode voltage war low at the 2.5 henri i fikst the henri lose contact its works great again i have started at 10 watt to heat some up than i have reac about 2 ours den at turn the rig to about 40 watt its works great a chort time at 50 watt. thanks now i kan make music again. at 48 mtr and 79 . greetttings cor |
