Oops! Maybe I got the year wrong.....it was late and I tend to get a bit senile sometimes. I'll check again but Paul has probably got them all now anyway. Rich.

Re: Whats your favourite LES L JOHNS story
I'd like to add my thanks to Keith and Paul for making these articles available. These will keep us all amused for many hours.
Keith, you deserve a medal for scanning 290 pages in such a short time. Cheers, Roy |

Re: Whats your favourite LES L JOHNS story
I have to admit it would have taken longer if I had used my old scanner. I recently bought a new scanner which can scan multiple pages direct to pdf which made the job much easier. Once set up it's a matter of about 30s per page. What did take the time was the fact that I was re-reading the magazines before scanning them. Apart from the LLJ articles there were many interesting articles including many on vintage TV. Many of the TVs featured as new are now classed as "vintage" including the G11 previewed in August 1977.
Perhaps the number of posts on the forum will fall as everyone downloads the files and reads them regards to all Keith (now working on a less ambitious project) |

Re: Whats your favourite LES L JOHNS story
Keith has sent me the extra three from 1977, which are now on the site. The big PDF file containing all the stories is being uploaded again now, which will take about another 25 minutes (during which time you won't be able to download it).
The missing 1987 files which Steve reported are now available too. |

I can, if anyone is interested, scan the S.Simon articles which ran for several years and form an excellent introduction to TV servicing. Long live Les. Gone but by no means forgotten. Keith Last edited by Paul Stenning; 11th Oct 2007 at 4:39 pm. Reason: Removed name |

She also included some information that may help us to locate HB (including her real name) which I will pursue in due course. |

Re: Whats your favourite LES L JOHNS story
I have to say that these articles are getting me into all sorts of bother!
I am supposed to be sorting the workshop out, so I can move some of the old junk (not my description) out of the dining room! I really should not have downloaded all of them - Excellent reading material! I really think I ought to have pursued a career in repairing Tv and Radio - sounds like an absoulute blast! Thanks to all for the time and trouble taken doing this. Cheers Sean
