Hahaha....thank you all so very much. Yes. 1650w is just a tad powerful.

The only thing which was embossed on the output plug was 15a. Where the original service plate went is anyone’s guess but at least i now can say i have a transformer more than adequate to do the job.

Now for the long painfully slow recapping and rewire job that has to be done.

Would anyone recommend earthing off the chassis on this radiogram while i’m about it? Particularly as the transformer has an earth input and output.
