Re: Newbie Seeking guidance on PYE P76
On MW the resistor is shunted by the 15 Ohm LW coil.

Re: Newbie Seeking guidance on PYE P76
The switch pertaining to that is shown in the Trader sheet (switch ref. S8) but in the manufactures schematic that I looked at it isn't shown.

Re: Newbie Seeking guidance on PYE P76
Correction to my last post, the switch is shown but it's not shown making any contact, it's the unshaded, part circular shape....

So if i understand correctly referring to the 1141 trader sheet the path to ground from the aerial passes through S3 through the coil on L5 then through S8 to ground because this path offers less resistance than through the resistor between aerial and earth sockets and the term 'shunt' describes this situation. I did the other day refer to the switch table on sheet 1141 and put different coloured lines adjacent to all the switches on the circuit diagram to show which ones were closed with the band switch in each position. It has made it much easier when I am attempting to follow path of current. |

Re: Newbie Seeking guidance on PYE P76
Yes that's right.
It's a lot easier to figure that out in the Trader schematic than it is in the manufactures. Lawrence. |
