Default Tandberg 3300x

Hello my name is Alan and I'm new to the forum.

I have a query about my Tandberg 3300X. Can someone please tell me how the joystick knob comes off itched to unscrew but it just keeps turning and also tried to pull it off but didn't want to pull too hard in case I broke it. Also how do I take the tape spindle wheels off.

Many thanks, Alan.

The joystick knob should just pull straight up, it's not screwed on. If it's never been replaced it can be quite tight though.

The reel holders are fastened from the back using nylon screws, the one on the right is integrated with the counter pulley. Or do you mean the pulleys? They are a bit tricky, basically there is a ball bearing in the middle of each one, and the bearing is mounted on a plastic holder which has two tabs protuding each side, you need to turn the holder 90° by prodding with a screwdriver so that the tabs run free through the corresponding holes in the retaining plate. (The retaining plates are the ones mounted on hinges at the back and the front of which ride up and down depending on the joystick position.) They are usually a tight fit.

The service manual offers good diagrams and description and can be found here: http://sportsbil.com/tandberg/3300x-3400x-sm.pdf.
