Re: Scottish meet 2022
Hi
It's just 10 weeks to the meet. I've had three messages from those that were interested in coming from friends here and the GVR forum to say due to rising fuel costs they won't be coming. Fully understandable also some small worries regarding the rise in covid cases in Scotland. TBH its early days Re covid as there is 10 weeks to go. I'd hope all that come will take a lateral flow test prior to leaving and I'd prefer all are fully vaccinated. I'd need definite confirmation of those coming by the 14th of May. Thanks for your patience.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Just a small update..
Those requiring further info, please PM me with questions etc I'll also give the address by that means not on open forum. We have bought a new Gazebo for the day in case of rain. Catering is getting organised and items for disposal or swap getting sorted out. Two weeks for final numbers so the last of the preparations can be finalised.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Hi.
Just a bump on this. There are around seven confirmed which is fairly good, if the count was less than five I'd probably have cancelled, bringing a lot of bits and pieces from the loft and to have had the arduous job of returning them didn't fill me with joy TBH. Just a quick reminder please confirm around the 14th if possible, the main reason is for catering but final numbers are very important as to how I proceed.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
***NOTE***
I need confirmation from those that originally said they were interested in coming. It is for the reason of numbers, I don't want to have food waste nor insufficient eatables it more turn up than we have catered for. Understand this is a free event and there is no charges unlike organised events but I really must have feedback from now its less than two weeks to go. The more the merrier.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
I'll be there. Don't worry about catering for me. I have an inconvenient allergy, so I'll just make up some rolls.
Anyone want a lift over from Fife? Seems a shame to take 4 comfy seats over empty. David

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Hello All,
For health reasons (not covid) I am now not able to attend this meet. I have already told Trevor but via a PM as I wasn't keen for my health problems to appear on a public forum. I regret having to miss this meet particularly since there has not been one in a while. Glad to see there will be a good turn out. Hope the weather is good on the day. Regards, Ken. |

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Hi.
All looking good for Saturday and an expected good turnout. I am parting with some CRT's that could be of use to many. There is an MW36-24 that is reasonable, 7BP7 radar CRT that is excellent, Also a NOS round 12 inch CRT, slightly oddball as its 6.3v 600ma heater and octal base. Lots of stuff for swap and a couple of 405 line TV's that must go.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Hi.
A great day yesterday. Good to see old friends like Dave Moll, Peter Scott, Eric McIntyre, Norman Raeburn, David Stockton (4 didn't turn up including the new member from Dundee with radios which was a big disappointment) and others. Go-getter (Matt) brought the valves but 95% were very tatty pulls and common TV varieties. He did though have a very early NOS PX4 in the OE box and mint and a U50 as well so he will make money on this. The food from Judy and her Kenyan friends went down well and John Joe from Ireland had a nice big doggy bag. A great day and thanks to all.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Many thanks go to Trevor and Judy for providing the venue and hospitality.
At the risk of infringing copyright, I can't resist posting the article I'm shown reading in Trevor's shed.

Re: Scottish meet 2022
Yes, it was a great day and good to meet up with folk I've not seen for a while.
Plenty of interesting items to look at and obtain/swap and I ended up with even more radios (!) - thanks Norman. I managed to obtain the U50 valve from Matt as well that will be ideal for my GEC radio which was needing one Thanks go to Trevor for organising this and to his wife Judy for the wonderful food on offer. Cheers, Andy
