Plus a shed full of bits and pieces.

Hi all,

On the subject of old radio shops, can anyone tell me if HL Smith & Co, in the Edware Road, are still going?

Cheers

Sadly long gone - I walked down Edgware Rd. last back in the late 90's and Smiths was still there, all boarded up with various foliage growing around the doorway - A very sad site to see !
I suspect the site would have been redeveloped by now ! Andy

Y'all may have noticed the adverts in Radio Bygones that Sound Systems of Suffolk are about to close down forever. I used to call in for a little retail therapy. e.g. a goody bag for £1. Specifically, I bought a valve output transformer at one time.
Still time to grab an item or two from them.

Alex,
Thanks for the reminder about GWM radio in Worthing.
Haven't been over that way lately but that shop is definately worth a visit. Last time I went they had a couple of old studio type tape recorders.
I remember {Just } When all radio component and surplus shops used to be like this..
Must get a 2008 diary and make a note.
