One point; I don't see the modern stuff around now ever being worth much.

One set I acquired at a jumble sale when aged about 11 or 12 was a Fellophone in a mahogany case with a sloping ebonite panel. It was missing its valves and I chopped it up for "spares" that I never used. I still have the case sans everything else including the ebonite just to periodically remind me how stupid I was.

On the good side it came with various sets of headphones and I still have at least one working set from that purchase.

Here's a couple from me, from after the days when radios just got stripped willy nilly... Well sort of!

I had a sobell like the one in Mark Pirate's avatar. It was given to me by a school friend, and I had to ask my dad to collect it in the car on account of its size. I used this radio for a long time, it had 2 IF stages and was really hot on the two shortwave bands. I remember Shannon Aeradio in AM then as well as all the broadcast stuff. But ultimately it met it's fate...

Another one that comes to mind was a radiomobile car radio. It had a control head with the RF amp and mixer stages in, connected to a box with vibrator power pack, and the IF and audio stages; the output was a N78. It was the best medium wave receiver I have ever played with, capable of pulling in stations from the US back in the days before there was an ILR 'local' on every channel; though with all the switch modes and energy saving lamps I doubt you'd even heard these now!! Even this I got bored with and guess what...

I wish I had them now. But please let's just not even mention the Stern Mullard 5-10 with Partridge transformers that went in the skip..... Cringe!!!!
