T1154/R1155 PSU Cabinet
I have a few projects on at the minute, but here is the main one! Just finished constructing the cabinet to house the PSU that a good friend is going to make for my T1154/R1155 combo. As you can see I have made it in a similar style to the R1155, with the front pulling out with a shelf fitted on the lower quarter. I also had the RAF lettering laser cut in to the front panel where the speaker will be attached. I countersunk the screw-bolts to eliminate the warping that would have occurred if I had welded it. Its coming along ! If anyone would like something similar made let me know ??!!

Re: T1154/R1155 PSU Cabinet
Spiffing construction!
I've made a few cabinets with folded aluminium and fillet welds along the corners without any apparant warping. I no longer work in a lab with a folder a guillotine and a rotex turret punch, but I do now have my own TIG machine at home. I've done things the reverse way round: there are now examples of my RF design in a number of restored Spitfires and one Flying Fortress... and they all go flying. David

Blimey, such art work. It's stunning. I'd just like the time to make the actual PSU for my 1155. Now, offers for THAT task.

Re: T1154/R1155 PSU Cabinet
I Think it was just luck of the moment - finding it, the previous owner had it as his pride and joy and has rewired the old wiring and replaced a few capacitors, but it is as immaculate inside as out! makes my other R1155B look a little rough.
Here is a picture of one of the 60' towers I have --its NOT bent LOL just laid out on my lawn in its 10' segments unbolted following the contours or my lawn, an absolute thing of beauty!! the other is a more traditional lattice wind up mast both are 60' and the wind up comes with rotator cage and a new coil of wire cable, their is an old winch that works but it could do with a new one, their are old wall brackets that could do with shot blasting and painting too. The first one does have an integrated ladder or foot steps built in and guy points. Last edited by AC/HL; 4th Sep 2015 at 8:36 pm. Reason: Forum Rules |
