Sad to relate, but I suspect that the chances of the triodes being okay are a lot higher in an auction of an obviously untouched radio like this than may have been the case had the purchase been from a radio related event. Whilst it may have been cheaper at the radio event, at least it is not being sold because of a known catastrophic problem or cost.

Well, I bought this radio on the monday before the sale and i can assure you that it has stood in an elderly couples garage for the last 30 years 'untouched ' i didnt pay a lot for it as i didnt know what it was worth , but i gave them what they asked , but the point im getting at is this is a honest find it has'nt been messed about with or if it was it would have been over 30 years ago ' i doubt it ' i think the winning bidder has a good set here
