Default Dynatron RG39A Wiring Advice

I have just acquired a Dynatron RG39A with the original Garrard record deck and replacement Sharp tuner and amplifier. There are three thin wires looped to the base of the cabinet which feed through the area housing the amp and tuner then out the back of the unit and are terminated in two black and one red plug as shown in the attached - can anyone please tell me what they are for. My suspicion is they related to the old amp and tuner?
Many thanks

I think you need to supply a bit more information such as pictures of the rest of the unit so that we can make a proper diagnosis.

They may well go to the internal speaker(s), but as Techman says, send us more pictures please.

Hello. I've had similar Dynatron RG's to play with etc and those plugs are internal aerial connections.
The 2 black are the FM dipole and the red is for AM.
You will find the sockets on a small panel at the back of the RG.

Hope this helps.
David.

This may not be the case as the OP seems to indicate that all the original guts, other than the record deck, have been removed, hence why we need some more pictures. However, you're more than likely correct with what you say as regards to the original use of those plugs.

Ah, quite right Techman. I somehow missed the "replacement Sharp tuner and amplifier" bit. But that's what the plugs would have been for originally.
I've just had a look in my workshop and I still have the AM wire with the red plug from one of these lovely RG's I scrapped back in 2016.

I would say the Sharp installation is a massive improvement over the original electronics. Certainly in terms of reliability. YMMV.

David.

Yes, if the OP does come back with some more pictures, it'll certainly be interesting to see the modification that has actually been done with the replacement units.
