Re: Tv62
Oh my Gawd! A raster! That sacrificial burning of my TV63 must have done the trick!
A lot learned here I think and a lesson to everyone contemplating their first TV repair/restoration. Success Chris and you should have some form of picture on the set now. Regards, John. Just seen it! Turn height down and adjust vertical [frame] hold. It should lock if everything is in place. |

Re: Tv62
Great! You need to centre the picture with the device mounted at the rear of the scan coils on the tube neck. Its the picture centreing magnet.

Re: Tv62
It has a knob on the end and by turning twisting the whole assembly around the neck and turning the knob at the same time you will be able to centre the picture vertically and horizontally. If the brightness drops, don't worry at this stage. J.
No, just take care and if your concerned put on a latex glove or just a plastic bag! Your hand that is. |

Re: Tv62
The slight 'cogging' of the picture will probably clean up when you have replaced C39 .1uf on the receiver unit but don't worry about that yet. J.

Don't confuse with the ion trap magnet mounted close to the tube base. J.

Re: Tv62
thats fantastic that you'vegot a picture on it at last!! well done
i've thought of one other thing, maybe the slight cogging onthe picture is caused by it not quite being tuned in, I had the same on mine, a slight sound on vision when it was just off tune. also happened on my philips 1708u too. regards, Lloyd. |
