Default Roberts RM20

Hello all. I'm a complete novice when it comes to radios and electronics, so may be about to ask some daft questions.

I have a Roberts RM20 that doesn't see a lot of action due to it only having MW and LW. I'm hoping to build a raspberry pi media player inside it, but without doing anything to affect the radio itself.

So my question is, is there any risk to attaching the media player directly to the Roberts speaker? And if not, what is the best way of doing that? Soldering the speaker wire straight on? Or is there some kind of a connector I could use without soldering?
