Question Stored Message quota exceeded by new member

I've just tried to send a PM to a new member, only to be met with 'stored message quota exceeded' How can a new member have had time to exceed his message quota? Is it less than for us long-established members?

Yes, it's quite low until the member has made a few posts. I can't remember the details at the moment.

New members can have up to 10 stored PMs. This is to hopefully prevent people signing up and doing all their communicating via PM rather than in the forum.

Over 5 posts you get 100 PM storage and over 10 posts it's 500.
