Default Stepper motor

Hi all
I have a stepper motor that has eight wires leading from it. The colours are two red two black two yellow and two grey. The markings on it are Portescap, code 2253, type RG1A/4-2. Has anybody any idea what colours would fit to my controller , A ++ B C ++ D.
Many thanks Mike

I would guess, either of pair to A, B, C and D the other of the pair to +. It may need a bit of juggling to get it to work.

Thanks for input guys. My motor looks similar but its not the perfect match. I have identified two halves of one of the windings, four wires, and am now working on the remaining four.

Hello all
I managed to get my stepper motor working, so if anyone comes across a similar problem with an eight wire stepper motor with the same wires this is the colour code. Two reds and the two blacks are joined together and form the common. The sequence for the other four wires is white yellow white yellow, these go to the other side of the coils.
Cheers Mike
