Default Coastal Radio of Edinburgh

Hello

I am looking for information on Coastel Radio
a firm that was located in Edinburgh specialising in
Marine equipment.
Web sites devoted to this subject would be a good
start.

Thanks and best Regards

Techno

Hi Techno,

The name Coastel Radio sounds like it comes from a different era from my references but who knows?

There was a company listed in the Edinburgh street
directory for 1948/49 that also appears in the 57/58
directory but not in the 62/63.

It was COASTAL RADIO LTD, 27 Hope Crescent, Edinburgh.

Can't help you with web pages.

Hi Peter

Thank you for the information about Coastel Radio
Endinburgh.
Back in the late 1980's when I was working for B.T
a Radio Amateur friend gave me a Coastel Radio
Massive seven TX and a CR300 receiver (not to be
confused with a Marconi ).
The receiver had a tube front end, IF and detector
stages followed by a single ended OC29 transistor
amplifier.
The above was enclosed in a bench top rack with a 24V rotary convertor supplying 350V H. T, and the valve heaters were run off the 24V supply.
I have still got the TX and some day hope to get it fired upon Top Band.
The RX was sold at Portishead Swop meet bring and buy and the rack and convertor being to bulky to take home got dumped.
This may generate some more interest in the subject.

Best Regards Techno
