Eckersley Tuner
Does anyone know what presumably home constructor sets used this tuner (early 30's) and what magazines the designs were published?
Thanks for any replies, Mike. |

That has to be some magazine. However, my eye spotted just in one column of one page what is now a derogatory name for someone from China and further down an allusion to Scotsmen being 'tight' with money. An example that we have to be careful to see these archives as containing material of their time and not of ours. David

Re: Eckersley Tuner
That's understood by all right minded people these days. Interesting that Lord Reith and Captain Eckersley feature in the same publication, although completely unconnected. The former sacked the latter for a misdemeanour, the severity of the consequences also being of earlier times.
PS. As a Yorkshireman I find Scotsmen unreasonably generous! |
