Taylor 45a Components
My faithful old Taylor 45a (Series 2) emitted quantities of smoke this afternoon and on investigation two resistors at least seem to have overheated. I know what caused the problem (a valve with an internal short) but I have no record of what the components should be.
Can any kind person enlighten me? A picture of the board is attached, and I need to know the values of items A, B and C. The resistor in between A and B appears to be 10k. Thank you! |

Re: Taylor 45a Components
Here is what my Taylor 45A has on the tag board, the values I measured for the wire-wound resistors are shown in brackets together with the nearest standard E24 value (can anyone verify the last two wire-wound resistors as the values differ a bit from the 45B parts list & the 45A manual has no parts list).
Component values from left to right: wire-wound 2K (measured 1.95k ohm) (brown,black,orange) 10K wire-wound 560 ohm (measured 544 ohm) (brown,brown,brown) 110 ohm capacitor 0,25 µf (brown,blue,red) 1K6 (brown,black,yellow) 100K (red,violet,orange) 27K (red,red,brown) 220 ohm Component values from top right to bottom right: wire-wound 24 ohm (measured 24.4 ohms) (blue,grey,brown) 680 ohm (uses dog-bone resistor colour code) (red,red,red) 2K2 wire-wound 33 ohm (measured 31.9 ohms) David Last edited by factory; 9th Jun 2019 at 6:52 pm. Re: Taylor 45a Components
This post seems to confirm what I measured for the wire-wound resistors and has a drawing showing the component locations;

Re: Taylor 45a Components
Many thanks for this very helpful information. The wire-wounds on my machine are some way out of value so I will be sourcing replacements.
