Hello, sorry when I said twin panel I meant the set had two vertical pcb's, IF on the left and timebases on the right. Valve UHF tuner although I seem to remember later types had a transistorised one, long before the integrated 6 button one.

Could it be a Sears Cartrivision system? An early video recorder using 12.7mm. tape on stacked spools.
As well as the obvious self-recordability, there was the option to rent pre-recorded feature films by post -- the films coming on special cassettes that had no drive to the supply spool, so you only got to watch the movie once! A special rewinding machine would be used in the rental shop.
