I found an unbadged one of these in the horn of an 'Expression' picnic gramophone and dated the soundbox to 1906 - so, sometime after that?

Hi pete, there apears to be quite a few images of them, a compony called tench treasures seem to have sold a few, one also currently for sale eBay, they seem pretty expensive too.
I would say around late 1930's to 1940? dating it seems to be a bit elusive, although I dare say someone will know exactly when they were made.

Paul.

My HMV 109 that I've dated to about 1925 had one included.

I've got one somewhere which came with a bunch of records dating from the 1930's.

I have a similar one but it has tracks in the felt where a larva has munched its way through it.
