Default Nakamichi Dragon

I was asked to service this machine, which as far as I know didn't work before I got it.

Dismantling and reassembly is a right pig of a job, I replaced the belts, pinch rollers and idler tyre, put it all back together but it doesn't work.

Can someone take a look at it? I fear I'm out of my depth.

The recognised person in the UK for the complex Naks is Peter Dolman. He has a long (6 months, last time I asked a couple of yrs ago) waiting list. He has the Nak gauges which are necessary for 100% factory spec performance (gauges sell for similar amounts to the decks now - they are extremely rare):

The link seems to be an IT company.

Mr. Dolman's site: I get an HTTP connection, not HTTPS, and some pages missing (blank, not 404).
Looks like it's no longer maintained, as it at least needs https setting up...

Obviously a problem at your end or with your ISP. Back on topic please.

No problem here, 3 days on.

There are one or two other UK-based engineers who may take it on, but Dolman has all of the Naka tools for alignment (which will cost you more than the machine these days, just for one of them!). If it's something simple, the others might be fine - it'll depend on what's up with it. Dragons are notoriously complex and Dolman would be the only fellow I'd take one to. The top chap in mainland Europe (in NL) has stopped working on Dragons because so many have worn heads. Being one of the few auto-reverse Naks, they are more prone to worn heads than others. The head's unique to the Dragon and you can't pinch one off another Nak (unlike the DR and CR series, which share a lot of parts).
