Burndept 290 rewiring question.
I'm about to start a rewire on an old Burndept 290 as everything on this set has perished but these days the selection of color cables available seems very limited.
What ampage/voltage rating cable would the group recommend using for this set particularly for six way cables up to the loudspeaker and also the magic eye? |

Re: Burndept 290 rewiring question.
Ordinary 16/0.2 will be fine for most connections in a normal radio; it's only carrying a few tens of milliamps a few tenths of a metre with a few hundred volts across it. Even the parallel-wired heaters of a transformer-fed set only draw a couple of amps, and the hungriest valves -- the rectifier and output -- are too close to the transformer for any voltage drop to be significant.

Hi NC
You're welcome to this bunch of cables there are 10 different colours and I think they are all over a metre long. Not sure of core size but I am pretty sure more than adequate for the insides of a domestic radio Cheers Mike T
