Default Checking DC offset on Sony TA3200F

Hi, Please could someone advise me, if you can test the DC offset without a load attached with this Power Amp.

Also, as it has output levels do I keep these turned to minimum like a volume control.
Or am I best to connect a preamp and set the volume to minimum?
Thanks, Colin.

Hi Colin,
Others may know better, but I would have thought that it's best to measure for DC offset without a load connected, in case it's way too high and may damage the speaker. Certainly power amps I built years ago had two main measurements, first set quescent current, then measure DC offset at the output, usually a couple of hundred millivolts.

Cheers
Aub

Input to the power amp should be shorted, or volume set to minimum.
