Default Bush PB53

Hi, i have just completed a major restoration on this set. It now peforms very good on MW/LW but shortwave is very poor. The only stations are around the 49m/50m. I have tried adjusting TC2/12 as shown in the service sheet but no good. Also what is the purpose of the Teleflic indicator?? Any help would be welcome. Cheers, Malc.

Assuming the I.F.s are OK, this is on the RF Side. The SW is separate on these. First, does the Oscillator operate over the whole band and at a fairly decent level?

First, make sure the Wavechange is clean. Then check C7, C13, L7, L10 and trimmer C40. Also check C9.

If the oscillator is OK, check C1, C4 and C35. Then L1 and L4.

Clean valveholder. Also, mind what is where when you look from underneath.

Component Values from Trader Sheet 381.

Cheers,

Steve P.

Hi Malc

The teleflic is a logging scale to assist in re-finding stations.

I was convinced in my own mind that the teleflic had been discussed here before, but a search has not revealed anything.

A Google search, however, provides a little information.
