Default MW13-35 - any use for a pre-war set?

Just found a Mullard MW13-35, wondering if it was any use for pre war sets like the table top HMVs?

I think Gerry has one with a P7 phosphor tube fitted - it would be nice to be able to pass this tube on to someone that might find it useful to get an old set going.

Data sheet suggests it has a white phosphor - initial tests make me think that is is a short persistance type - over to the telly land gurus......

Used as television viewfinders in electromyographs at least, magnetic focus, 12.7cm diameter 7Kv

Would make a crt for a home built television project.

Hi Sean,
I'm not sure if anyone has tried it, but the MW13-35 might work in the 5 inch HMV 904 or the Marconi 706. The problem is with these sets is that the EHT is only 2.4KV. The other pre-war set to consider is the Pye 817, the vision only receiver. I think that this set operates on a higher EHT.
From the Radiomuseum: http://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_mw13-35.html
Certainly would be a useful CRT for a home build TV receiver.

The Philips data on the MW13-35 starts with "provisional data" in 1954.
So I suppose that sets the date to second half of the 1950's.

Would be nice to see a trial in a pre-war set.

Well, if anyone wants to give it a go, speak up, its a nice looking tube, and I think it is new.
