Panasonic PV 1000
I recently bought a Panasonic PV 1000 vintage VCR in MINT cosmetic condition. I tested it and the picture fades in and out with sound barely audible.
I was told by a serviceman that it's a servo (speed servo) issue and can't be fixed. I was also told that parts haven't been available for over a decade. There must be a way to fix this VCR. Anyone know someone who can repair this? A vehicle that is totally dead from 1930's can be restoreD but not a vintage VCR? Don't get it!! |

Re: Panasonic PV 1000
First thing to do is try cleaning the Audio/Control head.
This is the head to the right of the main head drum, clean both top and bottom sections with a cotton bud Steve |

Re: Panasonic PV 1000
Thanks for the reply guys. So the first thing I'll try is cleaning the audio/ control head. Then if that doesn't work I should try finding a spare unit for parts?
