That is great news Norman, I certainly will be up for that. It is handy for the "East coasters" and still fine for us in the west.

Hi Guys, After a bit of discussion with my wife I have a suggested date of the first Sunday in May 2011. Please let me know your thoughts on this. I don't really want to go into June/July as this interferes with folks holidays. Regards, Norman

Norman,
Isn't that going to be Bank Holiday weekend? If so it might make it a bit more difficult for us Southerners.

As my software thinks that Easter 2011 is 24th April, I assume you mean the previous Sunday. Easter is never in May!

Hi Dave, I can never work out when Easter is, you are indeed correct as my wife has just informed me it is the previous Sunday. The dates I have to put forward for the meet is either 1st or the 8th of May, I will go with the majority vote. Please let me know what you think, regards. Norman

Far be it for a sassenach, a Londoner even, to post on this thread but remember NVCF. Not sure if it has been officially published yet but NVCF2011 is on 15th May.

Monday 2nd May 2011 is a bank holiday so the roads will be busy that weekend. May 8th sounds like a better option.

Gentlemen: I am new to this forum and made my first posting only yesterday, so apologies if I make mistakes. I live just by Banff and would be delighted to attend a Scottish meeting of fellow wireless and gramophone enthusiasts.....I didn’t know there were any others with similar afflictions to myself. Is it OK just to invite myself?
I have a great friend along the coast a wee bittie, in Portknockie, who collects 405 TV and wireless sets, and I know he would like to come too, although he is not a Forum member. We are both BVWS by the way. Our wives may want to come too, as lucky for us, they are supportive of our hobby.
Sadly my technical knowledge of vintage electrical items is poor, but I am learning, and keen to learn more; so I am sorry to say I am likely to use this forum for questions rather than answers, which I hope is not too annoying to all you experts!
Kindest regards
Duncan

Hello Duncan,
Welcome to the forum, I have organised the last two Scottish meet's and I am sure Norman will be fine with what you propose.
You are not far from "Fidobsa" Phil who is in Tynet.
Its is really surprising how many Radio & TV collectors who are not on this forum, I know at least half a dozen.
Anyway I hope to see you next year.

Hi Duncan, As Trevor says that will be fine, everyone welcome. If you have any difficult repair problems (tv or radio) please bring them with you, I am sure I or some of the experts attending will be able to help. I look forward to meeting you all. Best regards, Norman

Well I now feel very much welcomed, both here and in the other post I made elsewhere on the forum. Thank you all. I will keep an eye on the progress towards a 2011 meeting.

My home near Banff isn't really on the way to anywhere.....but if you do happen to find yourself coming this way, my wife and I would be happy to put the kettle on. I am delighted to see one member, Phil, does indeed live relatively close.

regards. Duncan.
