Help needed with an old phone
Hi All,
I joined your forum to get some advice. I found this old phone in the GF's grandad's garage and was wondering what it is, or if it's worth anything? I can't seem to find anything on the web. Maybe i'm just not searching correctly? Any help appreciated. Cheers. |

Everything is worth something to someone. Can you post an internal photo to help us get a better idea.

Re: Help needed with an old phone
No idea if it's worth anything but my dad has one the same. Give it a good clean and it will look lovely, be a shame to sell something like this, there aren't that many around and sometimes that alone is worth more than the money you might get for it. Also, this kind of thing tends to only go if it's been converted and can be used but someone else may know more.

A clearer close-up of the circuit diagram and we can probably tell you how to convert it.

Re: Help needed with an old phone
Put it on eBay and call it a "Bakelite magneto telephone" with a £4.99 start and see what happens. Make sure you quote a realistic postage charge as these are both heavy and fragile.
Definitely DON'T bin it please. If you want to give it away, offer it here and someone will take it off your hands in no time. Nick. |

Re: Help needed with an old phone
It looks like a rare phone , possibly Edwardian. I am sure there will be a collector out there who will have it. Some of the old phones fetch crazy money, but even a fiver to you is better than throwing such a survivor on the tip.
