Default Unexpected skip find ii

Following my earlier post, a further rummage today has produced a BT Converse 1200, in very clean condition. (a bit too modern for me, but can't resist a freebie). Whilst the phone dials out OK, it won't ring on an incoming call. Anyone got any ideas, before it goes in the bin/gets broken for parts?

Check any ringer on/off switch first of all.

Then check the continuity of all 4 cores in the line cord.
