Re: Variable Capacitor Blade Broke Off
Fascinating... though I know 'silver-loaded' compounds work to repair damaged car heated-rear-window elements I'd truly never have expected these kind of "metallic epoxies" to be sufficiently conductive (and not include harmful low-level nonlinearities) to work in a RF situation.

Good result! One to store mentally for future reference.

Re: Variable Capacitor Blade Broke Off
When I was with Plessey in the 1970's, we used silver-loaded Araldite to fix metal stand-off pillars to the interior bottom of Eddystone diecast Aluminium (not Mazac) boxes. These pillars were for supporting the circuit boards, and were used for the Earth connection. They gave no trouble. The pillars were shouldered and located in through holes in the box bases.
