Hallicrafters SX122A
I've had this radio for a long time now but not used it.
Now it seems very deaf. I've re-caped it and replaced many of the resistors as they had gone just out of spec and tested all the valves/tubes but it's still very deaf. Even the xtal calibrator is very low signal. Has anyone worked on this radios that can give me a clue? many thanks. |

Re: Hallicrafters SX122A
Hi all. Update on this radio.
I found the problem. The two first If transformers had the internal capacitor problem so I very carefully removed them and took them to bits. The capacitors had lost of white whiskers all over them and had broken. I cut them out and replaced all four (two in each). Did a realignment and all is well now. It's working like new again. |
