Trying to Identify 1960's Portable Record Player - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Attached are a couple of images from the 1962 film Dr. No. I'm trying to identify the make and model of a portable record player which is used during the film
There is no visible maker's logo but perhaps someone here might recognise it.

Which country made the film? USA/UK/France etc.

I too come across equipment (featured in a film) and, quite often manufacturers will have paid the film company for placing their latest products (hence "Product Placement").

Bush (now defunct) were well known for paying film companies for featuring their latest radio, e.g: 2nd version of "The 39 Steps" staring Keneth Moore had the now famous Bush TR82 Transistor Radio on screen for some time and in a front/close-up shot.

There are websites that specialise in Italian or USA or......even Russian...….this list goes on.

Maybe a Dynatron, with radio? based on the Nomad portable radio, runs on three PP9 batteries , two for radio/amplifier, the third for gram motor. Cant think of the model name.

That's the one, the RG20 Safari.

The Dynatron Romany battery-powered record player uses the same deck and occupies a similar cabinet, but its amplifier controls are on the side where the handle is.

carry on cruising used the dynatron safari as well

Dr. No was a British produced film, made at Pinewood Studios. Extensive location footage was shot in Jamaica, but I'm pretty sure this scene took place in the UK.

Oh my goodness - thank you so much! It never occurred to me that it was also a radio, as the speaker is on the side away from the camera. You've just made a lot of obsessive James Bond fans very happy.

It's not impossible that it's the very same machine, as both films were shot at Pinewood in the same year.
