Yes, different articles. My original one was an Acorn one with a single 955 and a home-made short wave coil. Years later, they asked me to write an update and I added a 954 RF stage, but the output stage was a DL96 or something similar.
I built it initially because my wife came back from a car boot sale with a jar full of 955s, asking if they were any use to me Didn't give much for them either. Splendid little valve, but valve-holder are very hard to find now, so I made my own!

A brilliant piece of work!
Something that you should be real proud of, and maybe an heirloom to pass down.
I may try that circuit myself, as soon as I get the new workshop area finally finished.
