Default Mini vna gen 1

The only piece of super tech test gear I own seems to have fallen by the wayside and been superseded by two more complex iterations, namely the Mini VNA tiny wi fi blah blah etc.
Today it seems no sooner you have bought something for a few hundred sobs they go and make it obsolete with an upgrade. Mad!

Still I have here the mrs Mini VNA Generation 1 version V224, the original rectangular blue box version, a very capable piece of kit BUT i have a dilemma, I used to use Windows but now only run Linux.

My questions are, how on earth do I get this device to run on Linux?

Is it possible to make a firmware upgrade to this unit as well, like a Smith Chart?

So if anyone can assist please I would be most appreciative.

As far as I know the input and output to the PC is just simple numbers, the programme on there does all the pretty work.

It does, http://wiki.oz9aec.net/index.php/MiniVNA_ICD

Well a lot of gear these days is all a bunch of numbers , just takes a very clever person
to arrange / modify them in the right / different order i suppose.

Been there seen it but hav,nt done it !
I,m confused as to just who is in charge at that company now and what they are actually offering in
terms of back up. It doesnt look like open source to me but some kind of adapter / add on program ,
To me not much for the gen 1 version user , however i could be wrong .
