DAC90A w/change switch knob felt washer?
Should the DAC90A wavechange switch knob have a felt washer behind it, like the volume and tuning controls?

Re: DAC90A w/change switch knob felt washer?
Well, mine has!
It was rather fragile and falling to bits, so I found a way of making one. Brown felt is available in many haberdashers, a piece 200mm square and about 2mm thick cost me 50p. Cut a disc out of thin steel or aluminium with a hole in the centre, 15mm ID and 30mm OD, and clamp this to a sheet of strawboard, milboard, MDF or similar, with a piece of the felt sandwiched betwee. (Use 2 G cramps so as to keep the centre hole clear). Then using a sharp scalpel, trim round the metal template. It does take time, but you do get a decent clean washer. |

I'd make one up as described by Kalee. Rich.

Re: DAC90A w/change switch knob felt washer?
Thanks Kalee and Richard for your prompt replies. I've managed to find some brown felt already, so I just need to get a 30mm mudguard washer - so far I've only found 25mm and 40mm ones, but I must have something suitable somewhere.

Ron,
I think I have some ready-made, left over from a DAC90A restoration. If I can find them I can either post or bring to Wootton Basset. Edward |
