Default Kolster Brandes RV80.

Hi All

Can anyone tell me exactly what sort of set a KB Sovereign RV80 is please. Is it DS, B&W or colour and what sort of period were they produced.

Many thanks

Mike

The RV80 is a 21" or 23" 405 line receiver, can't remember the screen size. Quite rare and a very desirable set. Early 1961. Enjoy 405 lines on a big screen TV.

The RV80 is a 23" model with twin speakers, tone control and 'magic eye' contrast control. In other words ... the works! 93 gns new (legs 39/6) and as David says, vintage 1961. Lovely!

Info for the RV80 can be found in the 1961/2 Newnes R and T servicing book, pages 412 to 416. The CRT is a Brimar C23AG which I guess is similar to the Mullard AW59-90.
Someone give this set a good home. Make it your "flagship" 405 receiver.

Must say I'm tempted David! I do already have a comparable flagship set- the imposing 23" Ferguson Golden Glide consolette. They may fight!

Hi Steve,
It the kind of set I'd also like but now that the shop is closing I'm going to be pushed for space. Anyway I've got the 23" Pye V600, again an early 1961 405only set.
