Default British set in two metal boxes

Have just sold a Beacon Transmitter-Receiver AN/PPN-2 to a chap in the USA and he asked the following question, just wondered if anyone knew which set he is refering to?
"I look forward to getting it. Let me know if you ever find one of the British sets that came in two metal boxes".
Regards
Paul

WS38 AFV - Has two seperate boxes - one is the Radio, the other is the amplifier/power unit?

Erm, what about the B2 spy set? seperate power unit, and radio....

Lots of possibilities!

As Sean says he's possibly referring to the B2 spyset. We're probably all familiar with the suitcase version of this set, but it was also supplied in two waterproof metal containers. The "G" container housed the transmitter and receiver, whilst the "H" container held the PSU and Spares box. The boxes were interconnected by two leads.

These containers are incredibly strong and have very tough waterproof seals under the lip of the lid. I have a "G" container under my desk which serves as a foot rest. Unfortunately it only contains a working receiver. I do have a complete working suitcase version though.

This sort of stuff is very expensive these days, typically £2000 to £3000 for a B2. That's the reason I gave up collecting it.

Paul. I trust the AN/PPN-2 had the destructive charge removed?
