Default Please help identify this Monty Python radio

Hi! I was wondering if anyone can help. I am having a Monty Python themed wedding and I'm trying to find the same model of radio that the Python's used for the exploding penguin scene. I have found philips radios with red dials (this is the most important aspect) but not this particular model.
Thanks!

Will the bride be doing the funny walk up the aisle?

It looks like a B2G05U, with a replacement, perhaps home-made, cabinet.

Initially, I thought it couldn't be a B2G05U, as the cabinet is wrong. I took a look at the 'Exploding Penguin' video and the cabinet does look distinctly jerry-built - but this is explained at about 2 minutes in! So I agree with Gus, it's a 'rigged' B2G05U.

If a round red dial is the most important criterion for selecting a set for your wedding (congrats, btw!) there are a number of sets of similar appearance manufactured around the same time as the one in your photo. These were the Cossor CR1201U, Philips B2G81U and Stella ST113U. Less similar are the Cossor CR1200U and the Stella ST110U.

Actually, that Stella ST113U is quite stylish - I wouldn't mind one of those myself…

You'll need to fit a Rifa X2 capacitor for the full effect

eBay is your friend...they are not particularly rare.

It was intended as an explodable look alike not that the original post was a Bush. There is probably more of them about.
I saw Philips and something suggested that it was one....it had already been identified as such.

Have a search on E-bay right now. I was trying to identify a much older set by searching for the incorrectly-spelled 'Phillips valve radio' and the first result looks very similar. It needs two knobs fitting to complete the look.

Thanks Stuart. I had a look and yes, it's very similar. I don't have the tech know how or budget to fix it though so I'll have to keep looking.

The wedding isn't until October 2019, so a little while yet.

I finally found one! And only £15 on eBay. Very happy. Mission complete.
